Ghana ASCD is the first African affiliate of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), based in the US. ASCD is a global association dedicated to advancing excellence in learning, teaching, and leading so that every child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
As an affiliate of ASCD USA, Ghana ASCD is aligned with the mother organization in terms of educator development. Since its establishment in 2017, Ghana ASCD has been organizing educational conferences for teachers, school leaders and other educators. Ghana ASCD also runs workshops, educators’ development programs and is constantly exploring ways to support public and private educational institutions to become better at what they do. Over the past few years, Ghana ASCD has been consulting for Ghana’s Ministry of Education and has been the leading consulting partner for the Ministry’s new flagship project of National Educational Leadership Institute (NELI), having received grants from Jacobs Foundation and BigWin Philanthropies to support the Ministry to develop materials and learning resources for NELI and to support its initial implementation.
