Ghana ASCD presents the Professional Development (PD) series to improve the practices and expand the skills of educators and paraprofessionals within Ghana’s educational ecosystem. By developing the knowledge banks of educators and sharpening leadership and pedagogical practices, PD sessions contribute to successful student outcomes within institutions. PD sessions will also facilitate the learning of new and innovative 21st-century instructional approaches to teaching and learning.
Learner-centered communities are educational environments that prioritize the learners’ needs, interests, and active involvement. In these communities, the focus is empowering students to take ownership of their learning process by fostering collaboration, critical thinking, and engagement. Leading and teaching through this approach ultimately leads to a deeper and more meaningful educational experience.
This PD Series will cover a variety of learner-centered themes including:
GHASCD professional development services include customized training for educational teams and institutions. Our team of curriculum and professional development specialists have in-depth experience, spanning over 20 years, of delivering specially crafted training to teacher teams, school leaders, aspiring educators, and educational stakeholders.
Specially designed professional development courses that aim to develop 21st century instructional approaches and practices required for improved student learning outcomes. Our facilitating educators have over 30 years of collective experience providing teaching, learning and educational leadership development sessions that target innovative and research backed practices.
PD Series will target aspiring educators, current educators transitioning between schools or roles, educators seeking accreditation points with NTC, and school leaders to engage in learning sessions for school teaching, school leadership, and pedagogical approaches that are rooted in research based best practices. The program also seeks to train National service personnel being posted to schools in fundamental pedagogical skills so that their one-year service has a positive influence on the schools they are assigned to and provide them with qualification for job prospects in the educational sphere.
Transform education nationally by bridging the gap between quality professional development and educators to address learning poverty and improve student learning outcomes in Ghana.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion and participation in specific courses in the three key development areas in the PD Series program.
